How to create and manage projects in the KI-Morph platform

Create a new project

To create a new project in the KI-Morph platform, follow these steps:

Click on the "Create new project" button located on the main dashboard. This will open a dialog where you can enter the details of your new project.

  • Project Name: Enter a unique name for your project in the "Project Name" field. This name will be used to identify your project within the platform. Currently, this name cannot be changed later.
  • Project Description: Provide a brief description of your project in the "Project Description" field. This helps you and your collaborators understand the purpose and scope of the project.
  • Project Location: Provide an empty folder on one of your SDS where the project will be stored. Ensure that the path is readable and writable by your user account. While the folder name doesn't need to match your project name, it's recommended to use the same name for consistency and easier identification.

Once all the fields are filled out, click the "Create Project" button. If any required information is missing, you will receive an error message prompting you to complete the necessary fields. Upon successful creation, a confirmation message will appear, and you will be redirected to the new project's page.

Project Access

The access policy for KI-Morph projects is directly tied to the access rules defined in your SDS project. This means that every KI-Morph project created within a specific SDS is automatically accessible to all users who have access to that SDS. If you want to restrict or expand access to a project, you need to adjust the permissions at the SDS level. KI-Morph itself does not provide additional project-level access controls beyond what is configured in the underlying storage system. Therefore, it is important to ensure that your SDS permissions are set according to your collaboration and data privacy needs.

KI-Morph team does not have access to your data

The KI-Morph team does not have access to your data in KI-Morph. This means that if you require assistance with image analysis or troubleshooting, you will need to share your SDS folder with our team. Please contact us if you need assistance with this.

Editing and deleting projects

Due to restrictions in the underlying storage infrastructure, it is not possible to move projects to a different folder or delete them from the KI-Morph platform. If you need to move or delete a project, please contact the KI-Morph team.

Do not edit the KI-Morph folder

In order to prevent data loss or other unexpected behavior, it is strongly advised against editing the files in the KI-Morph folder directly on the SDS or editing the KI-Morph settings files. In case of questions, please always contact the KI-Morph team.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter any errors during project creation, first ensure that all required fields are filled out correctly and that the selected folder is both empty and accessible. One way to debug folder access issues is to start the JupyterLab application on bwVisu and try accessing the same folder there. If the folder is also not accessible in JupyterLab, the issue is likely related to your SDS or bwVisu setup, rather than KI-Morph itself.
